Safety first

Nuon is building one of the largest windfarms in the Netherlands in the Wieringermeer. More than 160 windmills will be placed over the next 3 years to produce clean and substainable electricity. A complicated operation that involves lots of workers to visit the building site on a daily basis. To ensure safety, many rules and protocols are in place. For this, we developed an app.

With the app, builders at the construction site of Windpark Wieringermeer get all the information they need. They are informed about the weather conditions for the Wieringermeer, the transport routes to the construction site entrances, news and information about the project and the app also offers functionality to report things that go wrong or could be improved on the site.

The app offers the following functionalities:

SAFETY-TIP: Each time the app is started, a safety-tip is given.

WINDPARK: Gives information about what happens on the Windpark Wieringermeer construction project through reports and videos.

WEATHER: Check the latest weather report in the Wieringermeer.

TRAFFIC: In order to reach the construction site entrances of Windpark Wieringermeer, there are mandatory transport routes. This and the current traffic information - like traffic jams - can be found here.

REPORT: If something is wrong or could be improved at the building site, it can be reported with the app. Take a picture or pick one from your cameraroll, add a description and the location and submit the report.
